Eat that frog with a Pomodoro technique

What is the Pomodoro study technique?

Pomodoro Technique

Pomodoro study technique is a decision of doing something and doing it according to time management. Firstly make a list of a day to fight procrastination then apply the Pomodoro technique to it. Choose a task and set a timer of 25 minutes then do your work.

Take a break of 3–5 min after completing your task. Then again choose the second task and set a timer of 25 min. Again take some rest of 3–5 min. Repeat this process 4–5 times and then take a long break of 20–30 min.

Who invented the Pomodoro timer?

Pomodoro timer or technique was developed by Francesco Cirillo. He was a University student and he was feeling procrastination in his studies. So he decided to set a timer and did their assignments according to this timer.

Have you eaten your frog?

Yes, I have definitely eaten my frog today. Firstly I made a list of my tasks then I followed this list according to the Pomodoro technique. In my list my all-day work included. Then I took a step to set a timer. During my task, some distractions occurred and disturbed me but it’s ok!

However, in my list, my first work was to clean my room so I started my work. Then suddenly I thought my laptop battery was not charged so I went and kept it on charge. Then I again started my work and did it. I was again set a timer and I have done my remaining work. During that time my mother said that “give me a scissor and my glasses”. I stopped my work and gave her a scissor and glasses. Yet I have done the remaining task also during the timer.

My third task was to clean my wardrobe. I took off all my clothes from my wardrobe and my mother said that “this course is very good which is putting you to work”. Then some smile of satisfaction was on my face. In this task, I felt that my speed was slower than the first and second tasks. But I don’t lose hope. I felt tired but I have set my timer again.

Now my task was to complete the 2nd course of Amal. But during this, I felt some distractions. When I started the course after setting a timer then some notifications on Whatsapp distracted me. My hand did not stop and I picked up my phone and checked it. But after that, I felt guilty. But then I motivated myself to complete the task and I thought that “What was supposed to happen has happened”.

Then I faced some distraction from the sewing machine, the voice of the machine was so much louder than Amal's course video voice. Finally, I decided to change the place. However, I was committed to myself to complete the course on Tuesday so I have done it.

Conclusion

This Pomodoro technique was very helpful to me. I have completed my task before time by eating my frog with the Pomodoro technique. I felt satisfied to stop my procrastination by making a list and setting a timer. However, I will follow this technique In my future life and hope well I will be helpful for my success.
